5TH REINHOLD MESSNER´S MUSEUM IN SOUTH TYROL
06.06.11 | Famous South Tyrol extreme mountain climber Reinhold Messner opens in July his 5th museum in South Tyrol, as a part of a project Messner Mountain Museum (MMM).
Till now there were 4 museums in South Tyrol: MMM Firmian in Sigmundskron Castle near Bozen, MMM Ortles in Sulden, MMM Dolomites on Monte Rite south of Cortina and MMM Juval in Juval Castle in Vinschgau valley.
The fifth and last museum MMM Ripa is due to open on 2nd July 2011 on Bruneck Castle.
Each museum has its own theme and MMM Ripa will be focused on mountain people. Name „Ripa" is from tibetan language (Ri = mountain, Pa = people). The collection will focus on the everyday culture of the people living in the mountain regions of the world like the Sherpas, Indios, Tibetans, Walser, Mongols and Hunzas. For pre-opening were invited also Czech journalists and had chance to meet personally also with Reinhold Messner.
