BALLOONS DAY FOR SOS CHILDREN VILLAGES
22.10.09 | Shortly after noon on Thursday 15th October 400 white balloons with messages from SOS villages were let out from the Thermal hotel in Karlovy Vary. This year the SOS children villages association celebrates 40th anniversary of foundation of the first SOS village in the Czech Republic and 60th anniversary of the first village in the world.
In the Small Aula of Thermal hotel children from SOS village in Doubí and from several basic schools in Karlovy Vary enjoyed an entertaining programme moderated by Světlana Zárubová. The kids were enthused about both performances - a great mime with bubbles as well as dance group Pentifull, later on they took part in the announcement of results of the "What I enjoy" painting contest as well. The authors of three best pictures won Samsung mobile phones.
An important part of the programme was festive hand over of a check on 700 000 CZK donated by the long-term partner of SOS children villages association, Samsung company.
The event was finished in front of the hotel by letting out the 400 balloons with small cards displaying the winning picture and message from SOS children villages association hanging on a string. The balloons should attract people and motivate them to send a DMS for 30 CZK in form DMS VESNICKY on the phone number 87 777. In that way they can help children from substitute families to fulfil their wishes.
